“MassLEAP's residency program was an exceptional experience for my students and for my own professional growth. The students who were part of the course with Porsha are now the core of our school's new slam poetry team. They are excited, motivated and spreading a culture of creativity through out school. I could not be happier with the residency and cannot wait to work with MassLEAP again!”

- Amy Alvarez, ELA teacher at Boston Day and Evening Academy

MassLEAP will work with you to meet your educational goals by providing customized programming for interested schools, organizations and cultural institutions. We coordinate a network of highly engaging, trained and dedicated teaching artists who have completed our certification program, that can be placed at your school. Mass LEAP Teaching Artists work collaboratively with teachers to create lesson plans that adhere to core standards while meeting students where they are in the content of their writing, developing in-school open mic & poetry slam performances.

MassLEAP has engaged thousands of high school and middle school students through our residency program in schools and organizations such as: Snowden International High school, Community Academy of Science and Health (CASH), Urban Science Academy (USA), Boston Day and Evening Academy (BDEA), Dorchester Academy, Hyde Square Task Force, Wayland High School, Prospect Hill Charter School, Boston Teachers Union Pilot, Bancroft School, Burlington High School, Monument Mountain School, and Department of Youth Services (DYS) Facilities across the state.
