Mass LEAP is indebted to the following super heroes who are sharing their incredible energy, passion and ideas to ensure that our new festival is going to be an unforgettable experience for the young people participating. Get to know them!

GLADYS HIDALGO (She / Her / Hers)

Festival Director

Home: Lynn, MA

Favorite Book: The one that hasn't been written yet (yea, I know I'm clearly a poet)

What Brought you to Wicked Loud? I believe in community, we can always push ourselves to grow and be free-er in our interactions. Poetry is a perfect vehicle for that interaction and young people are the best at poetry and getting free. But adults aren't always great at letting young people do those things so Wicked Loud is an intentional space to allow for that and to hold adults accountable to the creation of that space.

Festival Judge Coordinator

Home: Boston, MA

Favorite Book: Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi

What brought you to Wicked Loud: I love poetry and I love working with young people. Wicked Loud is a space where we radically imagine what our selves, our people, and our communities could be. There’s no place I’d rather be.

HAILEY TRAN (They / She)

Festival Tournament Director

Home: Lowell, MA

Favorite Book: All About Love - Bell Hooks

What Brought you to Wicked Loud? I believe in the power of storytelling, poetry, and young people to create love, revolution, and hope in a communal space. Poetry is restorative, affirming, and a universal force that every young person should take part in.
